The Climax 419-E welding shield is manufactured of topquality, lightweight, highly resistant materials.

Body and handle

The body is made of fibreglass-reinforced polyester and has a flat, rectangular front with two flat sides and a semicircular upper surface. The body has a height of 386 mm and a variable width that ranges from 277 mm at the top to

227 mm at the bottom. 

The handle system consists of a closed polypropylene handle with an ergonomic design for convenient use. The handle is joined to the inner face of the front by means of a guide system with anchoring stops. The entire system is made of plastic.

Lens holder and lenses

The lens holder has a sliding design and comprises a rectangular edge conformed in the shield front and a rectangular frame fitted against the edge from the inside.

Both parts are secured with two metal bolts. The filter frame slides in the inner frame of the shield, actuated by means of a spring trigger in the handle. This system allows the user to inspect the work without having to remove the shield from in front of his face, such that protection from flying particles is provided at all times.

The lens assembly is composed of a cover lens, a filter lens and a backing lens. All lenses measure 110 x 55 mm and are CE-certified.

The shield is manufactured with a standard filter lens of shade 12, although a wide range of other filter shades are also available (filter shade 8 to 14).

Applications

The Climax 419 welding shield is ideal for use in any welding process, as long as the proper filter lens shade is selected for the specific type of welding being performed. In each case, the welding shield offers full protection against the radiation emitted during the welding processes as well as against solid flying particles. In addition, the shield is also recommended for use in processes where there is a risk of electrical discharges (up to 500V and 4mA).
